Greetings to the viewers, judges, and those I'm competing with. I'm back for one last solo IC My long-time idea was to tackle one different category for each yearly edition I participated in, but that's not the case anymore. I decided to revisit what I feel I'm most comfortable in, along with editing one of my favorite anime. I'm really not sure what else to say about the video itself, I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but nonetheless, I had a lot of fun making this except for that one nearly sleepless night. Either way, I am very happy to have finished this and I consider this my own personal love letter to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. If anyone wants to watch an anime to be inspired by, cry at, and overall kickass animation with giant mechs beating the shit out of each other, this is for you.
I know this isn't perfect; I really had hoped to have done much more but I tried my best.

Enjoyed watching this, really feels like you love this source. Overall really good performance for action, i just dont like film footages on 0:50, i think its just dont needed! without it, would looks just perfect imo

this song is basically begging to go along with a trigger/gainax show and u really did it justice. it goes 11/10 the pretty much the whole duration so big respect to ur skills for not letting it overshadow ur editing. your panning and use of velocity is also so clean. ive basically gushed about this enough in dms but i gotta say again; this shit is amazing nick <3

First time an AMV made me curious about that anime! I loved your lip sync and some executions like at 1:12 I think it was well edited and there is no break from your video, the pace and sync are also on point, good luck in the action category!

Hello,
I liked the video overall, it had some definite style to it, I especially enjoyed the FX on the first half and the attempted lip synch. However, I felt like the pace was a bit too fast and killed some impacts, some scenes felt accelerated a bit too much and the action becomes quite messy in the second half. The transitions are also quite concerning, some rotation cam zooms are random or not accurate enough and most masks transitions are really quick with fades which in the end just looks a bit messier than wanted. I also felt that it could have been more consistent visually, some FX didn't blend well together or were just a bit surprising to see like these kanji at 2:15.
It was cool but could have been even better with a bit more control on transitions and flow. Congratz for top 5 though and keep it up! Gurren Lagann is greaaat
