| Spaghetti Team - Mai Dire DropHere it is "Mai Dire Drop" from the "Spaghetti Team"! An amv with a funny title edited by a team with an even stranger name. And actually, the names of the team and of the amv were decided almost randomly, we can say just to have fun of ourselves... the amv title was, effectively, influenced by the fact that the team that in the beginning should have worked on the mep was almost totally remade, since that, for a reason or another, slowly everyone started to drop from the mep, before and after the beginning of the editing. However, although we had quite some problems (being them frequent premiere crasher or way too much long upload times), the amv is finally done... more or less decently... We tried to divide the work in the best way possible, but for the various problems we had, two of the tracks were edited randomly in little to no time, to fill the parts that were left undone... so the result isn't totally good, but I think you might enjoy some of the tracks, hopefully, especially considering that the two days of time we had to edit it were highly intense for the whole team, that was actually very knit. Particularly, I think that I can say that this video has the most original and funny credits ever... Well, I hope you'll enjoy this video! PS: We've already planned a v2 to fix the major bugs and to strongly improve the filler tracks. |

Agreed, there are lots of contrast in the mep, you can really feel when a track has ended and the next one is started... some people prefer it that way, other prefer something more constant. I personally think that the contrast are good in meps, they can make a track feel better than what it actually is, but it's just me. About my GitS track: yeah, it was actually very random... took the opening, sliced it and then imported the premiere project in after effects and set up the effects and the expressions... some people liked it, other didn't... I personally don't like it that much, I prefer my filler track with haruhi, but other people told me that it was the worst track in the mep... XD - Quote :

Thanks for the compliment! Well, the encode was osnar's doing, actually... I rendered and compressed in xvid and than upped, and after that osnar compressed in mp4 filtering a bit the xvid to remove the quality loss from the xvid compression (namely chroma upsampling)... so some tracks didn't look at they're best 'cause we didn't have enough time in order to properly filter everything....... - Quote :

Indeed, FraChan's track is my favorite one too! He did a great work in fitting the variety of the song, I'm glad that you like it! Yeah, I liked Niwa's Air track a lot too, especially at the beginning...but then it looses the pace with the song and slows down too much, but still he did a good job and I'm glad you enjoyed his work! ^^ - Quote :

Heh, we had to people dropping and uncountable premiere crashes, but we could do it! XD I'm glad to hear that there will be more events like this, it was a very funny, entertaining and enjoyable experience! *thumb up*

Track 02:
Là aussi très bonne track. Rythme soutenu sur Shakugan no shana.

General comment:
Some excellent moment, an AMV which is a lot more oriented toward pure editing and rythmn, than post production and visual aspect, if we were to compare it to the one from the Osef. Too bad that the quality of the tracks had a global tendancy to decrease. Really good work for 48H. Godd Work for the Outro!!!!
Track 01:
Excellent track. The rythmn is well respected and the pace is good. The choice of the scenes is far from bad, but 1 or 2 effects are not perfectly used.
Track 02:
Another good track. Good pace on Shakugan no Shana. Excellent part with Ergo Proxy. The choice of the scene was really good as well as the pace of the track.
Track 03:
Here again, realy good pace and nice flow. But the choice of some scene were a bit lacking, especially in the first half.
Track 04:
Good surprise to see Mizu no kotoba. Too bad to have put these incrusts (From Evolution right?). I think they destroy the esthetic of the anime, as well as not being really esthetic.
Track 05:
Average track. The important sound of the song were respected, and there was a real logic and tendance in the choice of the scenes. But I am finding myself out of this.
Track 06:
Good choice of anime (this song makes me think of the type of music one can generaly hear in highschool... ^^) The synchro is good, but I did not like the second part of the track with the fight, even if the storyline was easy to understand.
Track 07:
The idea to have a frame was not bad for the begining of the track, for the introduction. The slow pace was also good for the begining, even if the choice of the scene was not really good. But the frame should have left when the fast pace began, it was not working anymore. To change the scale by following the music was also a bad idea because it is difficult to understand what we see. By being careful, we can see that the scene were too long and not really fit to the music.
Track 08:
A really good pace in general. The transitions were in most cases good, especially with this style of anime and the choice of the scene. But some effects decrease my opinion of this track like the scanline which were totally dark, or the "black puzzle frame" |

Thanks! And we're glad you liked the credits. XD They were supposed to just be funny without any flaming, so we're glad you could actually enjoy them. ^^ - Quote :

I'm glad you liked Niwa's track, it was a very good starting for the MEP. ^^ I'd say that after the first half or something it lost the pace, but I'm glad you liked it anyway. - Quote :

Thanks! The shana part was edited by Osnar and the Ergo Proxy part was edited by Niwa. It was one of the two "filler" track, to cover shaman's dropping... they edited their parts in something like 2 or 3 hours, so I'm glad you liked it despite the little time they had for it! - Quote :
Track 03:

Indeed, this is my personal favorite from our MEP. You say? Uhm... could you tell us the scenes you'd really change, please? We could change them in the final version of the MEP, if you do so, it would be really appreciated! - Quote :
Track 04:

Yeah, I didn't know the anime either, but it fit well. I too think that the evolution was indeed overdone, but in some spots it's still ok... I'll ask colaci to mostly remove it, since quite a lot of people has been complaining. - Quote :
Track 05:
Average track. The important sound of the song were respected, and there was a real logic and tendance in the choice of the scenes. But I am finding myself out of this.
Yeah, it had a good editing, but it felt like there was something wrong... even though I can't really tell why myself. XD Also, the second part was too slow, I think we're gonna change at least that, from this track. ^^ - Quote :

Good anime choice? Thanks! Quite some people said that the anime was totally wrong for this song, so I'm glad that someone liked it! Yeah, the syncro wasn't really hard to keep, but I had quite some problems with the scene choice... I kinda tried to do some lyric sync ("Have you got the time to illustrate the origin of illness" is what they say in the action part... I thought the scenes were kinda fitting), but still nothing really noticeable. Again, this track is going to be totally replaced. Winry, who originally had to edit this, didn't give us more news about her track until 22.30... less than 2 hours away from the final deadline. The track ended up being edited by me in a rush, with a fucking lot (heck, way too much) Premiere crashes (about one every 5/10/15 minutes). Also, I had a lot of problems with the frame order with this (directshowsource is fail for that, but ffmpegsource didn't work), so I had to manually adjust most of the wrong frame orders. And still I left a scene that had frame order problems that was fixed when I did the mep mixing and thanks to osny for giving me the scene. XD Anyway, since winry edited the track in much more time and with better results, we're gonna put that in the v2. - Quote :

To be honest, although this was my original track, I had even less ideas than I did for the filler track. I ended up slicing the GitS opening a bit in premiere and importing that in after effects and putting some effects and expressions... I was thinking about making something more dynamic for the v2 and also to replace the zoom with something like the dispersion effect... and also I'm gonna tweak better the expression for that. About the scenes, yes, they're way too long most of the time... more than for sync I went for visuals, I think, since I did not have a good idea... I'll see if I can come up with something to improve the track for the v2, thanks for being honest and giving useful feedback! - Quote :

But some effects decrease my opinion of this track like the scanline which were totally dark, or the "black puzzle frame" Yeah, the track was generally tight edited. I think the editing was fitting for the song, although maybe kinda boring in some parts. I'll see if jun will have the time to fix the things you mentioned for the v2... can't really tell you for sure, though, since she doesn't have much free time... Once again, thanks for the detailed comments! We're really thankful for your constructive and helpful feedback, it'll help us improve! |
