Saw your salty comment about your ranking. Then I decided to take a look on how good your amv is.
First indeed your anime / music selection is rather good, the lyrics match. When we know what sankarea is about it's really a good choice, especially this sentence " I'll pull it together and fix myself eventually ". But as far as it goes, when we are talking about a romance video, it's at least what is expected and I could do this compliment to most -romance- videos posted here.

Well, where is your concept ? The only thing i get a sight of is the sankarea's storyline. That's not what I call a concept, if you tried to deliver something more than this to us, you failed dude.

I'm considering myself as an old school editor, even if my amvs are known for including heavy filters / typo / effects, editing / flow between scenes are always my main concern. After all these years what I understood ? AMV is also about graphics, what you described is not more honorable than what Madao did.
You indeed picked the right song, but elsewhere your editing (and i'm just talking about raw editing) is plain as hell. Absolutely no flow inside and between scenes (which is what we call editing). Lot of cuts which lead to standstill images. Your rythm is a disaster, you missed all the key parts of this song, when it speeds up you are slowing down your editing...
Your glow/fade effects on beats are not appropriated. But well it's an IC won't bother you on this, but marking a beat with glow+blur always slows down the rythm (basic AMV editing knowledge).
Overall the mood is rather good, and some parts are great regarding the mood (~2.30 to 2.54).
It's a decent AMV I didn't watch all the AMV in this category, definitely not bad but it's...plain. The three judges are Hall Of Fame editors, can you even imagine how many clips like this they saw ? Without joking i would say near thousands...
Your concept/story is not understandable, your editing skills must improve, your rythm is off, it's not appealing, visually speaking, what is remaining ? A good choice selection
