Alchimia is an AMV Tournament held by the Italian studio, Rising Production.
Two editors pair up and must try to overcome each round by staying united. The rules anticipate the possibility that a team may come apart – As such, the editors will have to give it their all in order to remain together and be ruled as champions (more info below).
The term Alchimia in English means Alchemy and represents the type of Tournament that we've created. That is, the matching of two different elements that will create something new from the base elements. In this case, the two elements are actually editors, and they will be mixing and matching different styles of editing throughout each round.GENERAL1 – Only Anime Music Videos are allowed.
1.1 – In order to be considered an AMV, 60% of the video must at least consist of Anime and/or Japanese Videogames, and the duration of the song must be at least 90% of the video.
2 – The video must be between 1:30 min. to 5:00 min. long (intro and outro not included).
2.1 – You may add an intro, credits and whatnot of the duration that you prefer.
3 – The staff reserves the right to disqualify any video if it considers it necessary.
4 – “
Alchimia – Tournament” and “
risingproduction.it”
must be written at the beginning or the end of the videos.
REGISTRATIONS1 – You must enter in couples.
2 – Registrations are made by posting a message in
this topic, specifying the names of the two members.
3 – Registrations begin on
July 12th and end on
July 24th.
3.1 – Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis.
4 – The Tournament will take place only with a minimum of 16 participants (8 couples).
4.1 – Once we have 16 participants, the registrations will continue on until we fill up a full roster of 32.
4.2 - In the event we do not obtain a full roster of 32 participants, only the first 16 may be able to participate in the Tournament.
5 – If by any chance a participant does not have a buddy to enter the Tournament with, you may flag yourself as
Lone Wolf in your forum message and the next person to enter him/herself as
Lone Wolf will be paired up with you.
5.1 – Just to make things a little easier for you, we will update the roster with the
Lone Wolf couples as soon as possible.
5.2 - It will be up to you to communicate with the person whom you get paired up with.
MATCHES1 – The matches will be made-up of one team against another.
2 – Every match will have a theme or some type of challenge, that the individual editors must overcome.
For example,
Editor A might be asked to edit his part in very dark and gloomy tones, while
Editor B might have to edit very bright and cheerful tones.
2.1 – Every round, each team will have the exact same theme/challenge as the opponent team.
3 – The round will be passed by the two best videos. This means that
Editor A from
Team 1 may pass the round along with
Editor B from
Team 2. At that point,
Editor B from
Team 1 and
Editor A from
Team 2 would be disqualified, and the two winners would now form a
new Team to go on in the Tournament.
4 – If one of the members drops out, the member of the opposing team with the same theme/challenge automatically passes the round.
5 – The winning team will be nominated Best Team.
6 – There will be a last, mono-themed round in which the two finalists will show off to see who the best editor of the Tournament is.
EDITING1 – The participants will have 7 days to edit their videos.
2 – There will be no deadline extensions.
2.1 – If you are insecure as to whether or not you'll be able to respect the deadlines, do not participate at all, as there are limited slots in the Tournament.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS1 – The video can a have maximum size of 150MB.
1.1 – The size limit may only be increased with a valid motivation, which must be
communicated to one of the coordinator.
2 – The following video formats are accepted: AVI, MP4, WMV, MKV, MPEG, MPEG2.
3 – The following video codecs are accepted: H264, XviD, WMV9, DivX, MPEG, MPEG2.
4 – The following audio codecs are accepted: MP3, AAC, WMA.
